John has been selected as a finalist in the Glover Prize for a Tasmanian landscape painting for the fourth time. The entry “Rosny she-oaks at dusk” was exhibited in the 2025 exhibition and has been sold.

Image depicts Murdoch’s Soap Factory, Tolosa Street, Glenorchy, Tasmania. The property was located next door to the artist’s family apricot orchard.

This proposal for a new high rise building on the Hobart waterfront has stirred up the community. The proposal seems to be in conflict with previous Sullivans Cove planning studies.

A visitor to the 2014 Glover Prize exhibition examines the work of John Hodgman.

The painting is a view from The Hobart Domain, looking north to the River Derwent, and the image was released in 2017 by the Glover Society.

People’s choice award for digital photograph in the Wild Island Photography Exhibition won by John Hodgman

Photo entitled “East Coast Granite”  a photo of a granite formation near Spiky Bridge Beach, in Tasmania, won 2nd place for the Natural Design Category.
